Alison Cameron

1980-4 Honours degree in Archaeological Sciences, Bradford University including excavation of Roman sites in Spain and Castleford, Prehistoric and later settlements in Orkney (Broch of Birsay and Pool, Sanday), Medieval and post-medieval Northampton.

1984-6 Specialist in human remains for University of Bradford, English Heritage and University of Aberdeen.

1986-2010 Post-excavation Assistant and then Assistant Archaeologist 

Directing large, medium and small archaeological projects including 70 developer-funded projects:

St Nicholas Kirk excavation in 2006 - managed over 80 staff and volunteers during the excavation of 1000 burials and 4 medieval churches dating from the 11th century.

Marischal College 2008-10. Management of archaeological work during complex engineering works for formation of new Aberdeen City Council headquarters.

Research excavations including St Fittick’s Church and Torry Battery.

Seaton Pottery excavation, research, exhibition in Provost Skene’s House and booklet.

Talks to people of all ages and abilities including Rotary Clubs, schools, conferences and community groups.

Development of Aberdeen City Sites and Monuments Record giving us an in-depth knowledge of the Aberdeen's archaeology.
